MM-facebook-graphic-regional-mapWe are excited to announce that Media Minefield is expanding by opening our first regional office. The region covers 11 states throughout the Midwest. The headquarters in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, will be led by Mark Millage, who served as the news director of KELO-TV for nearly 20 years and as the president of Kilian Community College for almost 8 years.

This is the beginning of a new chapter for Media Minefield, but one that fits in well with the rest of the book. Although we are based in the Twin Cities, our reach extends far beyond that. In 2015, our clients were seen and heard in 143 local media markets from coast to coast and just about everywhere in between.

Mark will focus on bringing Media Minefield’s unique approach to public relations to more clients throughout the Midwest. Our long-range goal is to hire several Regional Directors across the country. They will be our boots on the ground throughout the U.S. Here in the Twin Cities, our approach to helping clients share their messages will not change.

Our media coaches are working in dozens of U.S. media markets every day. We have established relationships with producers and reporters across the country, who know and trust Media Minefield to deliver quality interviews. With our expansion, our name will become known in more and more newsrooms, promoting our noble cause: to change the perception of the PR industry nationwide.

Mark’s impressive resume speaks for itself. He brings an understanding of how newsrooms operate and a passion to tell people’s stories. Mark’s first big test, however, will come less than two weeks into his new position, when he’ll be the only miner away from headquarters on rock star dress up day. We can’t wait to teleconference with him!
